If someone special in your life is about to have a baby, you might be wondering where to have a baby shower. Congratulations to the mom-to-be! It’s so nice of you to show her how much you care by throwing her a baby shower! Baby showers are really precious events that new moms will remember for the rest of their lives. That’s why they need to be special from beginning to end, starting from the venue.

So, where exactly should you have the baby shower? Well, as you will soon come to see, there are lots of baby shower venues that you can explore. In the end, though, it will all depend on what is convenient for the mom-to-be. She is the boss, and what she says goes!

However, as her good friend, your job is to give her choices. Or, if you are doing this as a surprise gift, your job is to team up with the rest of her girlfriends behind her back and blow her away. That is exactly what this article will help you accomplish.

Best places to have a baby shower

Firstly it is important to consider what kind of Baby Shower you are planning before you decide upon the best Baby Shower venue.

Things to consider include:

• The time of year. You may want a cozy indoor venue for a Winter Baby Shower, or a light airy outdoor venue for the Summertime.
• The number of Guests you are planning on inviting. Large numbers of guests need large Baby Shower venues and less guests will of course fit into a smaller space. Equally, you don’t want to rent a huge space for just a few people who won’t fill it!
• Your budget! Baby Shower venues can be pricey if you choose fancy venues. If budget is a consideration then this needs to be kept in mind.
• Catering. Do you need a venue that offers a catering option or are you planning on organizing your own food and drinks.
• Are children invited? If you have a number of children attending then you will want o make sure that your Baby Shower venue is child friendly.
• Your Baby Shower theme. Many venues will allow you to decorate to your themed Baby Shower, but some won’t so this needs to be kept in mind.

Having a Baby Shower at Home (indoors)

This one is so obvious, isn’t it? First off, having the baby shower at the host’s home is perfect because it creates an intimate and comfortable experience for the mom-to-be and family members. Plus, it is easier for her as she doesn’t have to go anywhere! Home baby showers are the perfect venue for gift opening and baby shower games.

The only downside (and it can be a huge downside, depending on the event!) is the clean up thereafter. This is the least fun part of home baby showers. An easy workaround for this would be to have everyone clean up after themselves before they leave, or perhaps to have the baby shower in an outdoor setting. Speaking of which…

Backyard Baby Shower

Gardens are great. Only people who don’t cry at ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ and people who don’t pick up puppies will tell you otherwise! Plus, flowers, picturesque settings, and nature all around you; what’s not to love?

This is why they are perfect for baby showers. Having one out in a garden that is teeming with life is almost poetic. If you have a large garden, it should be a no brainer to hold your celebration there.

Unless the weather sucks or your garden is too small. In which case, you still have several other options…

Baby Shower at a Tea room

Another option is a tea room. There is something about tea that just relaxes you. Tea rooms are such simple spaces, yet they have a way of getting us to engage in conversations and interact, which is exactly what you want in a baby shower.

You want the ambiance and the conversations, and of course, the endless cakes and snacks. You can also take things a notch higher and come up with several games that everyone can play. Make it fun with some free printable baby shower games and everyone will have a great time. 

Baby Shower at a Restaurant

Much like tea rooms, restaurants offer ambiance, space, and a convenient place where everyone can come to hang out. Plus, they take the pressure of decorating and presenting everything to look perfect out of your hands. You have access to the waitstaff for that.

When it comes to restaurants, you have two choices; you can either book the entire restaurant if you have a large guest list, or you can go for one or two large tables if there are only a few of you.

Additionally, some restaurants allow you to do your own theme decorations. Just keep in mind that they’ll be more willing to let you do this if you reserve the whole restaurant. Baby Shower at a Local Park

Local parks are great because they are pretty straightforward and relaxed settings. No preparations needed. You only have to tell everyone where and when you are meeting, and that’s it. All they have to do is show up.

The only downside is that parks often have crowds of people. However, if your guests don’t mind crowds, you have nothing to worry about.

Church Hall Baby Shower

If you are a religious person, a church hall can be a nice place to have a baby shower. The great thing about churches is that they often offer discounts or even complete waivers on the venue for members of the congregation, you there is a good chance you are looking at a great deal with this venue.

Another plus is that you will not need a lot of decorations in the church hall.

You can make things even more fun by including some games and activities. The important thing here is to know your audience and to know where everyone in your group of friends stands religiously.

Barn Baby Shower

Yup. You read that right! Barns are becoming a very popular baby shower location these days. 

Of course, their allure lies in the fact that they offer fairytale experiences for most occasions. Rustic barns look like they have been taken right out of a storybook. Throw in a few bales of hay and one or two horses and you have the perfect setting for a baby shower.

Vineyard

Of course, I know what you are thinking, and no, no wine for the mom-to-be! Vineyards are great because they offer such rich experiences, and the air around them always smells fresh and alive. She will definitely have a nice, relaxing time there.

What’s more, you can all take walks around the vineyard after the party.

Baby Shower at a Hotel

Hotels are great especially if you want the baby shower to last overnight. After all, you get everything you need all in one place, with all your favorite people around you. Few things beat that.

Surprisingly, overnight baby showers are not as popular as they could be (mostly because people have jobs and lives to get back to), but if you choose to have one, it will bring your entire group of friends closer and strengthen your relationship more than any girls night out ever could.

Community center

Lastly, community centers are affordable. And most of them have large enough spaces to have baby showers with a lot of guests.

Of course, the downside here is that once you book a space, you have to do everything yourself, from decoration to catering and everything in between.

Rent a Party Tent

If you have a large backyard, then consider renting a party tent or marquee to as your Baby Shower venue. Decorate with fairy lights and you have a magical setting fit for a princess.

Baby Shower at the Beach

If you live near the ocean, then consider your local beach as a Baby Shower venue. Set up a pretty picnic and throw a gorgeous, boho style Beach Baby Shower.

Rooftop Terrace

If you live in the city, a restaurant or venue with a rooftop terrace is a great idea. Not only do you and your guests get to be waited on, but you can also enjoy the views across the city.
