Location is key

When you are thinking how to throw a Boho Baby Shwoer, location is key! Although you can throw a Boho shower indoors, this theme really comes to life in nature. If you have the space in your garden, then this works great in a shady area under some trees. The benefit of hosting the party in your own garden is close proximity to your kitchen and bathrooms.

However, if this isn’t feasible, I have seen some great Boho showers thrown at a local park or woodland. Just rope in someone to help with transporting all the goodies to the party location!

Dress Code

This is such an easy party to dress for! Think florals, floaty and dresses! When you send the invites, it’s a good idea to give guests a loose dress code. For example, you may want to recommend that guests channel bohemian fairy vibes in flowy fabrics and floral prints. Think summery dresses, floral patterns, lace and pretty colors.

Flower headbands can add that extra touch of Boho. Even a simple plan floaty dress can be dressed up with some flowers in your hair.

A DIY flower crown is super easy to make and only requires a few materials. Grab the floral tape, scissors, craft wire, wire or pliable twine, and flowers and greenery. flower crown

Set the Scene

A Boho Party should feel eclectic and relaxed.

To create this feel, use cushions, blankets, and tapestries, which will add layers to your styling. These can be used a picnic style blankets on the floor and also draped or hung up high.

Tip: Try to create height to your styling by incorporating some hanging decor.

Whether or not you have furniture, you can use throws, cushions and blankets to create comfortable spots on the ground or to decorate chairs and couches.

Tip: Old curtains can make a great throw, check out your Mom’s cupboards or local charity stores! Cheap fabric off cuts can also work well as a base layer.

Décor

Once your textiles are in place, add some special elements to make your Boho Baby Shower truly magical.

Fairy lights strung between trees or in a jar as a centrepiece create lovely atmosphere.

Flowers add beauty, color and interest. With a Boho themed Baby Shower, can can be really eclectic with your flower choices. It really doesn’t have to be matchy matchy!

Greenery placed on tables and on the ground in jars or baskets can add a touch of nature. Don’t hesitate to mix colors, textures, and patterns for your table décor to give your space a relaxed look.

Candles placed in jars or lanterns also add great ambient lighting as the sun goes down.

Food and Drink

Think relaxed, picnic style finger foods that can be picked at and eaten straight from the plate.

Grazing platters are really popular for this style of party… think cheeses, meats, nuts, olives, fruit etc. Decorate with sprigs of rosemary and basil for added greenery.

Tip: A grazing platter is super easy to put together and can even contain both savory and sweet items.

Cake

I love having a cake for all kinds of parties.

A boho themed cake can be super easy to achieve. A plain sponge with some fruit and cream will do the trick perfectly!

Tip: Add some edible flowers to the top of the cake the continue the floral theme.

Drinks

For drinks, follow the Boho theme with mason jar glasses and colorful punches. I love this recipe for Sparkling Fruit Punch (although I have been known to switch out the Sparkling water for Prosecco!). Or go classic with everyone’s favorite… champagne (with a non-alcoholic option for the Mama to be)!!

As long as you follow a relaxed, floral and floaty vibe, you will nail the theme. Once the soft music is playing, the bubbles are flowing and the wind is in your hair, you will be having the best party of your life!
